A Topper in IIT from Hyderabad Commit Suicide in US University, Suicide Suspected

HYDERABAD: A topper in IIT from Hyderabad, Shiva Kiran who was studying for a Master’s degree at the North Carolina State University in the Raleigh City of United States, has found hanging in his room.

Shiva Kiran, 25, was committed to suicide to get low marks in semester exams of the MS course recently. He had taken admission in the university six months ago and was scheduled to come to Hyderabad. He was said to have been depressed with his grades in the first semester exams.He shared the room with two other students, both Chinese.

No suicide note was reportedly found but the student had withdrawn the fees he had paid for the second semester.According to the information from parents, He had told his family he wanted to come home and prepare well for the next semester.

“We got a phone call from officials of Telugu Association of North America (TANA) who informed that he was found hanging in his hostel room,” the IIT graduate’s shiva Kiran uncle said, “We are awaiting more information and clarity,” he added to the information.

The family is waiting for the body to be brought home. His father is a pharmacist working with the government in Hyderabad.
