Death came Suddenly 8 Youngsters Died…
The age group between 14-19 eight young stars were swept down a waterfall into the Kapila Theertham on yesterday because of unawareness and sudden torrent coming from Tirumala hills
The TTD(Tirumala Tirupathi Devastanam) and Forest Department are not coordinate with each other and not taken protection to the citizens for not barring access to the dangerous point to the top of the hill.
Kapila Theertham is a very popular adventure place to the local citizens/youth coming to the place on weekends. A Naturally formed pool above the Kapila Theertham waterfall that’s what 8 youngsters died on Sunday.
A proposal to bar entry atop the hillock, initiated when A.P.V.N. Sarma was the TTD executive officer a decade ago, On the morrow of Sunday’s tragedy, TTD trust board members said yes indeed the path to the Plate has to be blocked. The Plate is commonly dubbed as a death trap here.
Most of the people coming to the Tirupati stop at this place to take a shower in the waterfall at the edges of the pond and offering prayers at the Sri Kapileshwara Swamy Temple. For the most part of the year, Kapila Theertham is an innocuous trickle of water flowing down the steep.
The waterfall becomes an angry only when the torrential rain at above of Tirumala hills.
No Time for warning to the youngsters
There is no time to intimate the warning to the youngsters. Minister for Environment and Forests Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy and MLCs Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu and G. Srinivasulu visited the bereaved families and offered their condolences and a relief payment of Rs. 2 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
